3rd Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum to be held

It is learned from some departments concerned that the 3rd Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum will be held from July 11 to 12 in Ningbo. About 400 experts in harbor shipping and logistics from over 30 countries along the Maritime Silk Road will exchange ideas on the theme of new changes in markets and new development of ports and seek for multilateral cooperation for a new blueprint for co-development.

The forum is a port-themed activity of the China Maritime Day Forum, the only nationwide festival in the maritime field in China, which is fixed held on July 11 annually in Ningbo.

This session of the cooperation forum will focus on the exploration of the new paths for the transformation and upgrading of port, shipping and logistics industries for further development, based on the current complicated and large changes in the international economic and shipping markets. In addition, a new Zhejiang elements introduction part will be included to present the new explorations of the province in the port integration, the new planning for the Zhejiang Free Trade Pilot Zone and the influences of the cross-border trade on ports and logistics in Zhejiang Province.

Reportedly, the previous two sessions of the forum have attracted over 350 guests from 34 countries respectively as well as over 50 port and shipping agencies in total. According to some preliminary statistics, about 30 bilateral meetings were held during the 2016 session and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Group signed cooperation agreements with five ports.
